Adaptation is a part of history. From adapting folklore to classic and contemporary novels, to novels finding themselves in theatre, to the recent plague of Hollywood adaptations that pull from both theatre and literature.

Though the transition from on-stage to on-screen can still manage to capture the heart of a story, taking the interactivity out of a video game for a movie adaptation has historically left players very disappointed. In this keynote we will explore why.
